The DCEU"s Supergirl Actor Turned To A Fellow Scrapped Superhero Actor For Support Amid DCU Reset

Sasha Calle played an imprisoned, alternate-universe Kara Zor-El a.k.a. Supergirl in The Flash, where Barry Allen meets her while trying to locate Superman. Calle"s Supergirl was a highlight of The Flash, receiving plenty of praise for her performance, costume, and action scenes. However, the DCU reboot led to Sasha Calle"s Supergirl being replaced with Milly Alcock"s, who will make her debut in the DCU"s upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, set for release in 2026.
Speaking to THR about her upcoming movie In The Summers, Sasha Calle discusses her farewell to the Supergirl role, calling the experience "bittersweet" and "heartbreaking". Calle thanks Batgirl actor Leslie Grace for helping her through the heartache, as Grace also bid farewell to her DC role after Warner Bros. shelved Batgirl. According to Calle, she and Grace now have a "beautiful friendship that is true and honest and sincere and kind." Sasha Calle and Leslie Grace Read Calle"s full comments below:
“I don’t know what I would’ve done without Leslie, to be honest with you. I feel like she got it even worse, and yet, she was just this divine light of love and warmth,” Calle says. “And even though it came from a really confusing and painful situation, we got to have this beautiful friendship that is true and honest and sincere and kind. We were there for each other, and I am really happy that we had each other then.”
