However, the departure is being described as amicable as he is continuing to work on the Wonder Man TV show for Marvel Studios and Disney+ while still developing Shang-Chi 2. The trade also mentions that Cretton is already "in talks with Marvel Studios about directing future movies," although no specific titles were referenced. What's Going On With Avengers 5

This year has seen several challenges for the MCU as they attempt to flesh out the Multiverse Saga. For much of 2023, the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes caused multiple delays, including various MCU movies and TV shows, with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty not able to move forward. However, while the Hollywood strikes may be over now, there is a bigger issue going on with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and that is the antagonist himself.
Since his arrest in March, Jonathan Majors has been dealing with allegations of assault and harassment, with his trial set to start later this month. That has put Marvel Studios in a tough spot, which led to reports that they were considering moving away from Kang in light of Majors' legal problems and the lukewarm reception of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Whether Avengers: The Kang Dyansty will replace Kang with a different villain or recast the character himself is unclear.
