New Smallville fan art imagines what the DC show would have looked like if Jensen Ackles played Batman as he fights Tom Welling's Superman in the artwork. While there have been many DC TV shows over the last decade, none of it would have been possible if it hadn't been for Smallville. The Superman live-action TV show, which starred Welling as Clark Kent from 2001 - 2011, paved the way for the comic book genre on television, especially in the case of the Arrowverse franchise, which launched only a year after Smallville ended its run on The CW.
While Smallville got honored in Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, there are many who still want to see the show come back and continue the adventures of Welling's Superman.
