Agatha All Along Episode 6 Ending Explained: What Billy Maximoff Wants From The Witches" Road Revealed

Agatha All Along episode 6 reveals Billy Maximoff"s origins in the MCU by tying the show even closer to WandaVision, all while addressing several mysteries and teasing what is to come in the final three episodes. The ending of Agatha All Along episode 5 saw Teen confirmed as Billy Maximoff, the son of Scarlet Witch. This was a theory many held since the show"s marketing began, with Joe Locke"s reveal in Agatha All Along"s cast providing a lot of evidence that the Young Avenger known as Wiccan would be set up after WandaVision.
WandaVision"s ending saw the Hex around Westview dissolved by Wanda, as her twins Billy and Tommy faded away alongside Vision. In Agatha All Along episode 6, these final moments of Wanda"s story from the 2021 Marvel TV show become integral to the story of William Kaplan, a.k.a. Billy Maximoff. With the other witches of Agatha All Along"s story taking a backseat, episode 6 delved deeper into the story of Billy, from his MCU origins and his ties to the Scarlet Witch to what exactly he is searching for on The Witches" Road.
How William Kaplan Became Billy Maximoff Explained Close Agatha All Along episode 6 begins when William Kaplan was 13, with the young boy celebrating his Bar Mitzvah. The celebrations quickly turn mysterious, however, when William visits one of the entertainment stalls run by none other than Lilia Calderu. After being told that his lifeline will be split in two, William leaves in a hurry and dismisses the seemingly phony witch"s claims. That said, William"s coming-of-age ceremony ends abruptly when those in attendance, other citizens of Eastview, are told they must return home quickly due to an incident with the Westview anomaly.

As William is driven home by his parents, they become distracted by the anomaly, Wanda"s Hex from WandaVision, shrinking rapidly. This causes a crash, with William taking the brunt of it. Tragically, William dies and takes his last breath as Wanda"s Hex dissipates for good. Miraculously, William wakes with a start, shouting the word "Tommy!" as he does so. From then on, William Kaplan becomes Billy Maximoff, with Agatha All Along episode 6"s ending giving more details on exactly how that links to the latter"s Marvel Comics origins.
Once Agatha recovers from her unwitting mudbath in Agatha All Along episode 6"s final scene, she speaks to Billy about his story. Agatha reveals that the soul of Billy that Wanda created simply found another host after the Hex was destroyed. This soul found what Agatha called an empty vessel, the body of the very recently deceased William Kaplan. This echoes Marvel Comics, with the source material explaining that Billy Maximoff"s soul was reincarnated in another"s body, that of William Kaplan.
Why Billy Has No Memory Of His Or William's Life Custom Image by Kai Young Interestingly, Agatha All Along episode 6 reveals that Billy Maximoff cannot remember his life as William Kaplan, nor can he remember the events of WandaVision. The car crash and the soul of Billy inhabiting William"s body essentially caused a reset, with one life ending and another beginning. This explains why Billy cannot remember his life as William, as the latter died for the former to be reborn. The two are entirely different people that inhabit one body, yet Billy"s memories of WandaVision are lost also.
It is likely that inhabiting the body of William caused a reset of Billy"s mind completely, explaining why he had to learn more about who he was...
An amusing subplot in Agatha All Along episode 6 brings back Evan Peters as Ralph Bohner, who serves as a vehicle to recap WandaVision for Billy. The character needs reminding of what happened in Westview, yet it is unclear why he has no memory of these events. It is likely that inhabiting the body of William caused a reset of Billy"s mind completely, explaining why he had to learn more about who he was, from the events inside the Hex to his family members like Wanda, Vision, and Tommy.
Billy's Reason For Walking The Witches' Road Revealed: Where Is Tommy Maximoff? Another of the big reveals in Agatha All Along episode 6 concerns why Billy is traveling The Witches" Road. The midseason trailer for Agatha All Along teased this too, with episode 6 revealing the answer sooner rather than later. Billy tells Agatha that power is not something he desires and that this initial reasoning for wanting to travel The Witches" Road was a lie. Instead, Billy is searching for Tommy, his twin brother from WandaVision whose fate remains unclear despite the former"s resurrection in the body of Billy Kaplan.
This motivation makes a lot of sense, as the twins were often depicted as being highly connected in WandaVision. With that motivation in mind, the question of where Tommy Maximoff is remains the biggest mystery of Agatha All Along episode 6. Given what was revealed about Billy in the show, it is safe to assume that Tommy"s soul was also reincarnated into another host after the Hex disappeared in WnadaVision"s ending. Who or where that body is remains to be seen, but the original Marvel Comics could give some indication.
Tommy Maximoff's Comics Origin Explained In Marvel Comics, Tommy Maximoff was reborn as Tommy Shepherd. Tommy Shepherd was a troubled child who often spent his time in juvenile halls, eventually settling in one before his speedster powers awakened. Tommy accidentally vaporizes his school using his powers, resulting in his containment in a high-security facility so that he can be turned into a living weapon. Eventually, Tommy is freed by the Young Avengers, with two recently added members to the team being Billy Maximoff and Teddy Altman, a.k.a. Hulkling.
Teddy Altman appeared in Agatha All Along episode 6 as Billy"s boyfriend, though his true nature as a Kree-Skrull hybrid from the comics was left untouched for now.
Intriguingly, this comic book backstory for Tommy Maximoff could explain where he is in Agatha All Along episode 6. It could be revealed that Tommy has already been imprisoned by the U.S. government or one of its many agencies that have been established in the MCU. One likelihood is the Department of Damage Control, an organization that has opposed other MCU Young Avengers members in the past. This would explain why Tommy is not present in Agatha All Along and set up his and Billy"s reunion in the MCU once the latter finds out where he is.
Why Lilia Cast The Sigil On William Kaplan A big mystery surrounding Billy"s character before Agatha All Along episode 6 was the sigil placed on him. This sigil stopped him from revealing his name or backstory to anyone associated with witchcraft, with the coven walking The Witches" Road unsure of who placed this spell on Billy. Agatha All Along episode 6 reveals that this witch was none other than Lilia Calderu herself, though, as revealed previously, she did not remember doing so as the sigil also works on the witch who cast it.

It is clear that Lilia sensed something when reading William Kaplan"s palms at his Bar Mitzvah, likely leading her to cast the sigil. What exactly Lilia sensed is unclear, but it could be that she figured out Billy was Wanda Maximoff"s son. This fact alone could put him in danger from the many enemies Wanda has acquired in the MCU since her debut, with Lilia casting the sigil to protect Billy from exploitation by other witches or the ramifications of his mother"s actions.
What William's Lifeline Being Broken Into Two Means Custom Image by Lewis Glazebrook During the scene between William and Lilia early in Agatha All Along episode 6, the latter tells the former that his lifeline is broken in two. Although there are many interpretations of this in the real world regarding palm readings, the real meaning for Billy was already revealed by the time of Agatha All Along episode 6"s ending. Lilia saw that William would eventually die and his body would be taken over by another host, thus explaining the two lifelines. This also explains why Lilia told William to live in the moment, as she foresaw that he does not have long left.
Are Lilia And Jen Really Dead? In an installment full of answers and revelations, one of the lingering mysteries after Agatha All Along episode 6 is what happened to Jen and Lilia. Billy used his powers to mind control them and subdue Agatha in episode 5"s ending, yet the two did not reappear from the sinking mud in Agatha All Along episode 6 as the titular witch did. This begs the question of whether they are really dead or whether they will return in Agatha All Along"s final three episodes alongside the potential Lady Death/Rio Vidal.
Related Lady Death Explained: MCU References, Powers & Marvel History There have now been several teases of Lady Death appearing in the MCU, which is exciting given the powerful being"s rich Marvel Comics history.
The answer to this mystery is that Jen and Lilia are likely still alive. There are several scenes including the two from Agatha All Along"s trailers, including the midseason teaser showing the two covered in mud, that have not yet been seen in the show. Therefore, Agatha All Along episode 7 will likely confirm the survival of Lilia and Jen as they, alongside Billy, Agatha, and the mysterious Rio Vidal, continue the perilous trials of The Witches" Road.
