While Charlie Cox's time as Matt Murdock in the franchise is far from over, Daredevil: Born Again is the first MCU TV show to start over. Despite having filmed multiple episodes for Daredevil: Born Again season 1, Marvel Studios decided to get a new creative team as they fired the original writers and remaining directors.
Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike has ended, Daredevil: Born Again will be able to resume production sooner rather than later. As Daredevil: Born Again recently tapped directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead to direct several episodes, the directing duo is now opening up on joining the Disney+ show. Per an interview with The Wrap, they are at "day zero," as the two of them shared the following about what they are currently doing for their Daredevil: Born Again preparation:

Benson: We have the best answer for you. So you see this space we’re in right now? This is our office and we just found out we have an office about 45 minutes ago. And that’s what we’re at with Daredevil.

Moorhead: It is day zero. We’re currently just consuming Daredevil content, not just the Netflix show but all the possible material. We’re just making our stew of information nice and thick.

How The Daredevil Overhaul Will Set A New Precedent For Future MCU TV Shows

While Daredevil: Born Again has faced roadblocks in its production hitherto unseen in the MCU, it was for good reason, as Marvel Studios is attempting to fix several issues with their TV content. One of the big aspects of most of the MCU series on Disney+ is the lack of serialization, as a lot of the shows have felt more like movies rather than episodic stories. However, with the Daredevil: Born Again TV show, Marvel Studios seems to be trying to turn over a new leaf.
The fact that the directors are even looking at Netflix's Daredevil TV show for inspiration speaks volumes. Using one of the most well-received MCU properties for the creation of Daredevil: Born Again doesn't just bode well for those who have invested years into Cox's version of the character, but the MCU itself. The MCU may be a success on the big screen, but Marvel Studios wants to have a similar victory through Disney+, so following a more traditional TV structure will help.
The new Daredevil: Born Again showrunner, Dario Scardapane, is no stranger to the MCU as he worked on Netflix's The Punisher.
The original Marvel TV era was successful for numerous reasons, but one of them was because the series actually felt like TV shows. From multiple seasons of character development to storylines that got massive payoffs years later, the MCU TV series for Disney+ has been hit or miss, with Loki season 2 so far the only property to have gone beyond season 1. Hopefully, with Daredevil: Born Again being retooled, it won't be long until they resume filming.
