Star Wars Has An Opportunity To Finally Make VADER"s Apprentice Canon
Although it nearly happened once before, a new opportunity has presented itself for Darth Vader's secret apprentice to be brought back to the official Star Wars canon. The protagonist of the Force Unleashed video games, Vader's apprentice Starkiller is still a beloved fan-favorite character despite his relegation to Star Wars' non-canonical Legends ever since Disney's continuity purge back in 2012. However, Legends characters have returned to canon before and the upcoming Ahsoka show may be the perfect vehicle for Starkiller's return.
It's been reported that Darth Vader's secret apprentice was nearly brought back to canon via the Star Wars Rebels animated series. However, the plans ultimately fell through after it was decided that the character didn't quite fit the story being told about the early Rebel Alliance. However, another chance has emerged with the upcoming live-action Ahsoka series starring Rosario Dawson as the titular former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker.
