I’m Convinced Marvel Will Introduce The New Avengers In 2025, But With A Twist

I think Marvel Studios" upcoming 2025 movies, namely Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*, will introduce a new Avengers team to the MCU. Ever since they first came together to battle Loki in 2012"s eponymous Phase 1 crossover, the Avengers team has been at the center of the MCU. Even now, five years after we last saw them in Avengers: Endgame, the questions of who will become an Avenger and will the Avengers be seen again are still hot topics of discussion, and I think I"ve worked out some much-needed answers.
We last saw the Avengers join forces during the Battle of Earth to take on Thanos and his armies, culminating in the emotional sacrifice and memorial service of Tony Stark"s Iron Man. Marvel Studios Phase 4 was the first chapter of the MCU not to include an Avengers crossover movie, and I found this pretty disorientating. Thankfully, I reckon 2025"s upcoming MCU movies will finally put me, and many others, at ease. Even though there"s no Avengers movie scheduled for 2025, I"m convinced a new version of the team will appear.
Thunderbolts*’ Trailer Teases The Debut Of The New Avengers Thunderbolts* Will Introduce A New Superpowered Team To The MCU Close Ever since Marvel boss Kevin Feige announced the development of Thunderbolts* in 2022, there have been theories concerning the appearance of the Avengers in the Phase 5 movie - the first team-up movie since Endgame. These theories saw a huge influx after a mysterious asterisk was added to Thunderbolts*" official title, leading some to speculate that the titular team may first be, or turn into, some version of the Avengers. I think this is very likely to happen, especially after new reveals in Thunderbolts* first teaser trailer.
Some scenes in Thunderbolts*" dramatic first teaser trailer appear to take place on one of the top floors of the old Avengers Tower. Originally Stark Tower, this New York City landmark became Avengers HQ after the Battle of New York. Avengers Tower, however, was sold to an unknown buyer in Spider-Man: Homecoming after the Avengers relocated Upstate. I think Thunderbolts* is implying Valentina Allegra de Fontaine purchased Avengers Tower, which supports the idea of the six Thunderbolts team members being brought together as a new Avengers team.
Sam Wilson May Rebuild The Avengers In Captain America: Brave New World President Ross Wants Captain America To Reform The Avengers

Before the Thunderbolts come together in the old Avengers Tower, I"m excited to see Sam Wilson embark on his first theatrical adventure as the Star-Spangled-Man in Captain America: Brave New World. Trailers for the upcoming legacy sequel have revealed that Harrison Ford"s President Ross will urge Sam Wilson to rebuild the Avengers team, perhaps hoping for them to operate under the supervision of the United States government. Sam opposed this idea in Captain America: Civil War, siding with Team Cap, so I"m questioning whether he will actually form the new Avengers team.
I want to see several old and new heroes join Sam Wilson"s Avengers team in Captain America: Brave New World, if he actually decides to fulfill President Ross" wish. Familiar faces like Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and Thor, among others, would make fantastic assets to the team, while I"d also love to see She-Hulk, Shuri"s Black Panther, Shang-Chi and Moon Knight, to name a few, return in Brave New World. As great as it would be to see Sam Wilson lead a new Avengers team in Captain America: Brave New World, I"m not sure that I actually see this happening.
I Think We’ll See The Avengers In 2025 (But Not The Official Avengers Team) Captain America: Brave New World & Thunderbolts*' Avengers Teams Won't Be Permanent Fixtures

If Sam Wilson does bring together the Avengers in Captain America: Brave New World, I don"t think this will be a permanent version of the team. Anthony Mackie previously shed doubt on Sam Wilson leading the new Avengers, so perhaps he brings together heroes that simply don"t work well as a team, leading to their hasty disbanding. The same goes for Thunderbolts*. I have enjoyed theories that the Thunderbolts team could, in fact, be brought together as the new Avengers team, but this definitely won"t last for long.

1 Sam Wilson could refuse to rebuild the Avengers, forcing President Ross to ask Valentina to do it instead. She could bring together Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Bucky Barnes, Ghost, Taskmaster and US Agent as the new Avengers team, but these antiheroes and reformed villains would surely see they"re too dark and damaged, not cut out to be bona fide heroes. Instead, they would naturally become the Thunderbolts. I think this would mark a more impactful debut for the Thunderbolts team, and create the opportunity for 2026"s Avengers: Doomsday to introduce the MCU"s official new Avengers team.
