Thanks to an upcoming crossover with iconic characters and moments from the High Republic era, Young Jedi Adventures on Disney+ is about to get very exciting. However, it also implies that dark days are ahead for the leading trio of younglings Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs.
As seen in a new trailer for Young Jedi Adventures, new episodes coming November 8th will include "Charhound Chase" and "Stuck in the Muck". Both episodes are written by Cavan Scott, one of Lucasfilm Publishing's key authors for the High Republic initiative, having written a collection of canonical novels and comics set in the era 200 years before the prequels. Iconic Jedi heroes will be featured such as Jedi Master Loden Greatstorm, his apprentice Bell Zettifar, and Estala Maru. Likewise, it seems the trio of younglings will also visit Starlight Beacon, the shining Jedi space station that recently met its demise at the end of the High Republic's first phase.
Star Wars' Young Jedi Adventures Is Set A Year Before A Massive Star Wars Tragedy It's also been confirmed that these crossover episodes will be taking place before the dedication of Starlight Beacon as featured in the first High Republic novel Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule. As such, this means that Young Jedi Adventures is effectively taking place about a year before the space station's fall, one of the darkest days in the established Star Wars canon. Thanks to the Nihil and their creatures known as the Nameless who preyed on Force-sensitive individuals, the marauders infiltrated the station, shutting off several systems before detonating a massive bomb, destroying the station and killing several Jedi as well.
While the presence of Loden Greatstorm in Young Jedi Adventures is exciting for the kids' series, older viewers who've read the novels know that Loden was one of the first major casualties during the Jedi's ongoing conflict with the Nihil, having his connection to the Force severed by the Nihil's powerful Nameless known as the Great Leveler before he was killed with his body turning to stone. Likewise, Estala Maru was killed during the fall of Starlight Beacon, having been the station's head of operations.
